My Inspiration

There’s just something about the horse.

When I’m around them, everything seems more peaceful, the rest of the world just floats away. That sense of calm, acceptance and honesty is rare and difficult to find anywhere else.

A horse never asks you to be anything other than yourself. It offers trust without judgement, strength without arrogance, and reminds you that grace and power do exist together.

Watching a horse move still takes my breath away. Their beauty is unparalled. Every movement feels authentic, without performance, yet impossible to ignore. It’s simply an expression of what is, of pure energy. A quiet confidence to be admired.

Through my paintings, I want to capture the feeling of exquisite beauty and of movement. The sense of the wild animal within still permitting us to connect and if we’re lucky, become partners.

I have been lucky enough to spent most of my life around horses, including 28 years with my own ~ Baylea.

She taught me that strength doesn’t have to be loud, that asking achieves far more than demanding and that trust cannot be forced. She has shaped not only the way I paint, but the way I see the world.

If my work allows someone to pause, breathe, and feel even a small part of what horses have given me, then I’ve achieved everything I hoped for.

Let me know what your thinking…
